Morgan: It never ceases to amaze me how many freaking ways there are to pack one bag with the same combination of miscellaneous clothes and things. In preparing for a trip you pack everything so perfectly and neatly. Rolling shirts and everything in to tiny cylinders, but then once you get to the first place you're going, you start to rip through the organization, undoing the order and introducing a chaos.
And then by the time you need to leave that very first place, you're faced with questions on how to pack up those things that are no longer so clean and that are in heaps. Do you embrace the chaos, and let all worries go free? Or do you pack in the same way that you packed at the start? Or do you try a new system and reassess the order in which the bag was once packed? I can tell you right now that this morning while waiting around I abandoned my system and gave a new one a try. It might not be as tight or as neat but it works and that's all that's important.
I'm writing this because similarly to a bag, an itinerary can be planned in so many ways and often times the best moments in life are made from plans gone a rye. Today we are on a train with an amazing Aussie we met at the hostel. Had we kept with the plan we would not have seen the villages so lost in these picturesque hills. We would not have had the many conversations on people and places.
I look forward to the spontaneous changes that will inevitably occur during the rest of our travels!
